Don’t Put the Punchline in the Blog Box, Dammit!
By Tracy on September 23rd, 2009Posted In: Blog

On the advice of my brother Mike, I will be no longer be adding my own commentary in the body of each comic.
In his reasoning, the omission will leave more to my readers’ imagination and definitely allow you to see and interpret the comic to be whatever you want it to, especially when the humour is a bit vague. (Humour shouldn’t be vague though, should it?)
Case in point, the News Week cartoon where Mike thought the punch line was that Pollution is happening at such a speedy rate that the newscaster wasn’t even through reading the sentence before the reported number increased. That of course is contrary to Lonnie’s observation that the broadcaster apologizes for reading the number wrong, but seems to not notice that she has mispronounced the word “beach”.
Other things I have desisted from adding are:
• Transcripts: because I’ve signed the site up to Oh No Robot’s service that allows readers the chance to interact more with the comic. (That reminds me, my ass needs to add an Oh No Robot link to the DJC site)
• Hotlinks: because I’ve got them all in a flashy PhotoBucket album now for your picking please. (Need to add a link to that too.)
Ok, things to do this Saturday as per above.
