Webcomic Readers versus Visitors

(Our recent comparison study (that we will now affectionately call ‘The Comparison Study’) that entailed our scouring the internet for the statistical facts of several webcomics established for 12 months or more, revealed the following data. Please note that this information is by no means definitive, but does represent trends that best answer some of the Webcomic Industry’s fundamental questions)
• By definition Readers are visitors who make your webcomic a part of their online routine. Visitors are considered readers when they return to your site 5 or more times.
• The term ‘Conversion’ describes when a visitor becomes reclassified into a reader.
• There are few means online to measure a webcomic’s reader ship.
• To date, ComicRank, a website that indexes webcomics, possesses the most accurate means of calculating site readership and conversion rates, where most other statistical tools focus on measuring the number of visitors (new and returning) to a site.
Tomorrow we will answer the question, What is the importance in Webcomics of Strong Writing and Drawing Skills?
